beauty consulting power hour

A focused 1:1 strategy session designed to help beauty founders solve challenges around retail readiness, product range, pricing, brand positioning and growth strategy.

I’m Michelle Collacott, Beauty Consultant, Strategist and ex-Buyer with over 20 years’ experience shaping beauty brands that sell.

Having worked inside major retail buying teams, I’ve evaluated thousands of products and understand what makes a brand commercially viable in today’s competitive beauty industry.

I launched Fresh Faced Beauty Consultancy to give founders the kind of commercial clarity, buyer insight and strategic guidance that many emerging brands never get access to.

As a former Buyer, I help you see your brand through a retailer’s lens, understanding not just what looks good, but what will actually get ranged, reordered and supported in store.

My role is to help founders refine their proposition, avoid costly mistakes and confidently prepare their beauty brand for retail growth.

QUESTIONS BEAUTY FOUNDERS OFTEN ASK

What does a beauty brand consultant do?

A beauty brand consultant provides strategic guidance to help founders build commercially viable brands. This can include support with retail readiness, pricing, product assortment, positioning, launch strategy and understanding what Buyers look for when assessing a brand.

How do I know if my beauty brand is retail-ready?

Retail readiness goes far beyond packaging and branding. Buyers assess everything from pricing structure and margins to assortment strategy, positioning and long-term commercial potential. Many brands approach retailers too early, often without realising the gaps that may hold them back.

What happens during a Consulting Power Hour?

The Power Hour is a focused 1:1 strategy session designed to give founders clear, actionable commercial insight. We can discuss challenges around retail preparation, pricing, product range, positioning, launch plans or growth strategy, depending on where your brand needs support most.

What types of beauty brands do you work with?

I work with emerging and growing beauty, skincare and wellness brands looking for commercially focused strategic support.

Some founders are preparing for launch, while others are refining their positioning, product assortment, pricing or retail strategy ahead of growth conversations with retailers.

My consultancy is particularly suited to brands looking for honest buyer insight and greater commercial clarity.

What do Buyers look for in a beauty brand?

Buyers look beyond aesthetics. They assess whether a brand has clear positioning, commercial viability, pricing logic, customer appeal and long-term growth potential. Understanding how your brand is perceived through a retailer’s lens can make a significant difference.

Can you help prepare my brand for retail meetings?

Yes. As a former Buyer, I understand how retail teams evaluate brands and what they expect to see before considering a listing. I help founders refine their proposition, strengthen their commercial positioning and approach retail conversations more strategically.

I’m not sure what support my brand needs yet. Where should I start?

That’s completely normal. Many founders know they need guidance but aren’t always sure which area of the business needs the most attention first.

The Consulting Power Hour is designed to provide honest, commercially focused insight into where your brand currently stands, helping identify opportunities, challenges and the areas that may need refining before taking the next step toward growth or retail expansion.
